Decided to try a new place for breakfast. Whitney Street Diner was our choice. Nice clean restaurant with a wonderful staff. The homemade Corned Beef Hash was really good as were the eggs. The bell peppers and onion were perfectly seasoned and grilled. I would describe it as Fajita Hash. But the Biscuits and Gravy were extremely delicious. The Gravy was mild, not salty with a good amount of ground black pepper. Just enough spice! Sorry but the potatoes were just ok. My lady said the Waffle was light and delicious. A great experience.

One of the best breakfast/ lunch areas in the northern suburbs!! I have been coming here since I was a little boy, I bring my daughter and son here now and it is so full of memories any time I step in it fills me with nostalgia. Definitely a 10 outta 10 the biscuits and gravy are to die for !!!

Love this spot! We ordered the Monte Cristo, of course it was amazing and rather large portions. Staff was all smiling and engaging. Atmosphere felt like I was in the 70s, which I enjoyed.

Another Grayslake gem. Nothing fancy and a complete no frills breakfast locale. Server was attentive without being overbearing, food came out quick and was well done and affordable ($14.50 for steak, eggs, and toast). Atmosphere was exactly what you would expect from a diner. Will absolutely be going back. Thanks for a great experience

Friendly service and a cozy atmosphere make it a great start to the day. Loved the pancakes and perfectly brewed coffee! Prices are reasonable, and portions are generous. A must-visit for breakfast lovers. Highly recommend!

Finally got around to dining here a couple of weeks ago and after leaving, my wife and I both agreed we already wanted to come back soon. Cozy lil diner in a very old setting boasts a great Mexican/American menu with good prices and friendly down-to-earth service. This is one thing I really enjoy is good ol' traditional home cooking. When it comes to breakfast I'm definitely old school and don't need anything fancy. Gimme a couple of eggs up, some sausage patties, lotsa hash browns, toast to dip in the yolk and a cup of coffee.......I'm a happy man! I would imagine this place is in direct competition with Fred's nearby which I've only been to once but knowing I've already been there is why I had to try this place and we love these guys as well. I don't get out to this area too often being I've been living in Beach Park since April of '03, formerly lived in Round Lake for over 13 years which was much closer but didn't know about this place then. Definitely my kind of breakfast venue and always happy to support local. We'll be back soon!
